A large number of senior serving officers of the Armoured Corps, Colonels of the Regiments, Formation Commanders and Commandants of the Armoured Regiments attended the conference and discussed issues related to the Armoured Corps as relevant at respective levels.
The conference aimed at discussing issues related to the Armoured Corps with focus on the renewed war fighting paradigm in contemporary times. The conference also addressed the aspirations of the Field Army and Armoured Corps Centre and School and was an opportune event to fine-tune its operational requirements and re-align the training focus accordingly.
Gen Dalbir Singh appreciated the laudable work being done by Armoured Corps Centre and School in particular and complimented it for its state of the art training infrastructure and standards. He praised the battle preparedness of the Armoured Corps and stated that he was confident of the arm to take on renewed operational roles as part of the Army. He also expressed that the commitment, morale, training and operational capabilities of the Corps was praise worthy.
The Biennial Armoured Corps Conference is a platform to brainstorm important training issues to enhance operational effectiveness, empower junior leaders and provide a platform to express and discuss aspirations and operational requirements of the Combat Arm.
